Powerhouse midfielder, Abdul Razak, was recalled from his loan stint at Charlton with immediate effect on Monday morning.
The 19-year-old Ivorian international was signed on a three month deal after the Blackburn game and Tweeted that he would be at The Valley for the rest of the season. That suggested that there was an agreement in place to convert the initial 93 day ’emergency’ loan into a standard loan in January, when the tranfer window reopened.
Razak was an unused substitute against Watford, started against Blackpool, was withdrawn at half-time in the Barnsley match and was an unused substitute in the matches with Wolves and Leeds.
Manchester City invoked the clause that allowed them to recall the player after the first 28 days of the deal. Clearly City are unhappy with Razak’s lack of game time whilst at Charlton and will probably look to find another club to loan him to.
Charlton will have to consider whether to dip into the loan market again to replace Razak.
